Unit #2

Hello Everyone!  I am currently a licensed massage therapist, notary public, BeautiControl consultant, mother of 3, grandmother of 1, part-time delivery driver, friend, partner, etc.  I know the list of hats can continue for a while, but I will spare you all.

I will tell you that I am the president of the SNAK Club here at Kaplan.  It stands for the Student Nutrition Association at Kaplan.  We are currently looking for a secretary for the club and more members from the nutrition programs.  If anyone would like more information, send an e-mail to clubsnak@gmail.com.
I am taking this class for the second time because my dad suffered a heart attack and needed emergency heart surgery toward the end of my term.  Unfortunately, my final project was late and didn’t count.  I feel this gives me a chance to revisit areas I struggled with the first time around.  It should be interesting to see if there is a big change or not.

The Journey on Reflection exercise has not changed my belief when I first listened to it.  I still believe we should be able to focus our minds to move diseases or viruses out of our bodies.  I think it is quite a rush to be able to experience the feeling of moving our blood around in our bodies.  I also think it would be amazing to visualize diseased cells and move them throughout the body to our systems that cleanse.  I know I will be experimenting with this idea to see what might come out of it.  I really like this meditation.

  1. This is technically my second time around as well. I started this class in the August term. I do not think that I even began my blog posting though. However, my nerve pain was out of control, therefore I became nonfunctional. Then I fell after Hurricane Irene while picking up branches and limbs in the backyard. That fall caused me to end up with two small tears in the disc between L5 and S1 of the spine. With both I was either in too much pain or too medicated to study. Then the fan really hit the ceiling when I began having really bad problems in my marriage that made me consider leaving with our daughters. I am still in the marriage though, and we are really trying to work things out with counseling.
I see a wonderful massage therapist in the area of Virginia that I live in.
Reading your bio, How does tupperware fit in with the massage concept? Both are great, and can be dually offered to customers. I just thought it would be better to present them separately.

  2. Sorry to hear all you have been through Janet. I'm glad you are finding a way to work things out.

Tupperware is usually offered separately, but sometimes my massage clients are really interested. They believe in saving money and the environment. Plus at the same time, I teach them how they can eat healthy using Tupperware instead of eating fast food on the run. Not only does it save them money so they can have more visits with me, but they start feeling better and losing weight. It ties into the final goal for my life. I want to reach Holistic Practitioner one of these days and whatever I can find which helps my clients is where I will be. Does that make any sense?
